PSJ Cafe is coming back this October

Our fabulous Pain Support Jersey (PSJ) Cafe will be starting up again on Tuesday 6th October at St Clement's Parish Hall from 10am-12pm.

After a break, we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone back for a friendly cuppa, a slice of cake and a chance to spend time together.

We’ll be selling tea, coffee and a selection of delicious cakes, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere where people can come along for a chat, meet others and enjoy some company.

The PSJ Café is a lovely opportunity to bring people together and help reduce the isolation that can sometimes come with living with persistent pain. Whether you’re already part of Pain Support Jersey or simply fancy a cuppa and a chat, everyone is welcome.

We can’t wait to get the café up and running again and look forward to seeing you there this October!

If you are able to bake a cake for our upcoming cafes, please email us on the link below:

Kate Kelly, Charity Development Officer

In July, we said goodbye to Kate Kelly, Charity Development Officer, as she stepped down from her role with PSJ.

Kate has made an invaluable contribution to our small charity and, most importantly, to the people we support.  We wish Kate all the best for the future and thank her for her hard work.

Annual General Meeting

Date: Thursday 3rd September
Time: 5.30pm
Venue: St Clement's Parish Hall

This is an opportunity for members of Pain Support Jersey to come together, hear about the work we have been doing over 2025, and look ahead to our plans for the future.

If you plan to attend, please let us know by email:
psjersey15@gmail.com or by giving your name to Heidi or one of the committee members at our activities.  A finger buffet & drinks will be served at the end of the meeting.

Thank You to Butterfield Charitable Trust

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Butterfield Charitable Trust for their generous donation of £2000 for the cost of our seated yoga sessions for a year.

Seated yoga is a gentle and accessible form of exercise that can be particularly beneficial for people living with persistent pain or reduced mobility. These sessions use simple movements, stretches and breathing techniques that can be adapted to individual abilities.

We are incredibly grateful to Butterfield for recognising the value of this service and for helping us to make these sessions possible for another year.

Mini Wheelbarrow Planters

These unique little planters proved to be a real hit, combining a touch of charm and a great opportunity to support our charity. Each one was carefully prepared and filled by Liam O’Connor and the team at the horticulture centre, making them a lovely addition to any garden, patio or doorstep.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Graeme Le Marquand who donated these wheelbarrows to the charity. Your generosity means so much to our small charity and helps us continue our work in the community.

Thank you for helping us grow!

Thank You - to Canaccord Trustees

We are delighted to say a huge thank you to Canaccord Trustees for their generous donation of £2,000 towards the cost of hall hire for our exercise sessions and café.

Their support helps us continue providing welcoming, accessible spaces where people living with persistent pain can take part in gentle exercise, connect with others at our cafes and enjoy time together in a friendly and supportive environment.

The exercise sessions and café are an important part of what we offer at Pain Support Jersey, helping to reduce isolation and promote physical and emotional wellbeing.

We are incredibly grateful to Canaccord Trustees for supporting our work and helping us to continue making a difference in our community.

Thank you for your generous support!

🎵 Singing with Jacky

Our next PSJ singalong is on Thursday 24th September, 2 to 3pm at St Matthew’s Church Hall (next to the Glass Church at Millbrook). This is a change from our usual 3rd Thursday due to Heidi & Jacky being unavailable that date.

We sing, have a laugh and enjoy the hour. No singing experience needed, and there’s no need to sign up, you can just come along. Singing together can lift your mood, help with breathing and bring people together. It’s also just good fun. One member said: “Jacky was so motivating and encouraging and such fun! The hour went so very quickly.”

If you’ve been thinking about giving PSJ a try, this is a great one to come along to. If you’re already a member and haven’t tried singing yet, do come along and give it a go. You’re very welcome to bring someone along who has been thinking about joining too. Please bring a drink. There is plenty of parking behind the hall and it's also on a great bus route.

Could You Help Shape the Future of PSJ?

We are looking for people to join our committee. You don’t need any experience - many of our committee members simply joined because they wanted to help and brought their own life experience with them. Even a small amount of time can make a big difference.
Jennie said: “The committee works well together and we pool our strengths.”

We would especially love to hear from people who could help with:
• HR and people support
• Fundraising
• Support for working adults living with pain
• Support for younger adults (18 to 35)
• Volunteer coordination

Not sure if you could help? Please do get in touch anyway - we would love to have a chat and find out. You can speak to any committee member at your next PSJ session or email us. Heidi said: “If you think you have skills that may be of help to us then please come forward. It’s a very rewarding and satisfying role
.”

Thank You

Thank you for being part of PSJ. Week after week, people show up for each other - at the park, at the café, in the water and everything in between. That is what makes this community so special. One member said: “It’s like an extended family now.”

PSJ is shaped by the people who come along. If you have any ideas, feedback, or something you’d like to see, we’d really like to hear from you.

Email us to get in touch

With best wishes,
Heidi and the PSJ Committee x
